Ewa Kopacz, Marshal of the Polish Sejm, along with a delegation of Polish parliamentarians, will visit Latvia on 30 and 31 May upon the invitation of Solvita Āboltiņa, Speaker of the Saeima.
During her visit to the Latvian parliament, the Marshal of the Polish Sejm will meet with Solvita Āboltiņa, Speaker of the Saeima, to discuss the bilateral relations between Latvia and Poland, including opportunities to strengthen economic ties. During the meeting is planned also to touch upon matters related to energy security, regional cooperation, as well as mutual support regarding topical European Union issues. After the meeting, the Speaker of the Saeima and the Marshal of the Sejm will hold a press briefing.
The Marshal of the Polish Sejm will also meet with Andris Bērziņš, President of Latvia, and Edgars Rinkēvičs, Minister for Foreign Affairs.
During the visit, Eva Kopacz will lay flowers at the Monument of Freedom, visit the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia, the Ita Kozakēviča Polish Secondary School, the a/s Dzintars company and tour Old Town Riga, the block featuring Art Nouveau buildings and the Riga Central Market.
The Marshal will be accompanied by Kazimierz Kleina, who is a member of the Polish Senate, and members of the Sejm – Artur Górski, Piotr Bauć, Józef Racki, Marek Balt, Andrzej Romanek and Krystyna Skowrońska.
